Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Sandelwood Studios’ on Saint Albans Drive, I’ll be honest — it’s not the flashiest place you’ll see in Nassau. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. This three-star property has this relaxed, residential feel that immediately puts you at ease. The fact that there’s parking right there waiting for you is already a win in my book, especially since it’s completely free and private. The welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for your entire stay at this charming property. The building’s understated exterior conceals comfortable accommodations that prioritize functionality over flashy aesthetics.
The Studio Experience
The room itself is where this place really shines. I mean, calling it a studio doesn’t quite capture it — you’re getting a proper living space with a kitchenette that’s actually functional. I ended up cooking breakfast a couple of mornings because, honestly, why not? The setup feels more like staying in a friend’s place than a typical hotel room. Everything’s clean and well-maintained, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling cramped. The thoughtful design maximizes comfort and practicality for extended stays. Each unit features modern appliances and ample storage space for personal belongings.
Location Perks
Here’s something I didn’t expect — the location is actually pretty smart. You’re in a quiet residential area, so you get that authentic Bahamian neighborhood vibe, but you’re still close enough to the main attractions. I could walk to local spots that most tourists never discover, and when I wanted to hit the more popular areas, it was just a short drive. The couples I met there seemed to really appreciate the privacy and peaceful atmosphere. This balance between seclusion and accessibility is truly remarkable. The neighborhood offers genuine cultural immersion while maintaining convenient access to Nassau’s highlights.
What Makes It Work
The staff here gets it — they’re not trying to be overly formal or fancy, just genuinely helpful. When I had questions about getting around Nassau, they gave me the kind of local advice you can’t find in guidebooks. The whole place has this laid-back energy that matches the Bahamas perfectly. Plus, having your own space with cooking facilities means you can save money on meals and eat when you want, not when the restaurant is open. Their personalized service truly enhances the overall experience. The team’s knowledge of local attractions and hidden gems proves invaluable for curious travelers.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you’re expecting resort-style amenities and daily housekeeping, this isn’t your place. But if you want independence, value, and a genuine local experience, Sandelwood Studios’ delivers. The 8.4 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re actually getting for the price. It’s particularly great for couples who want their own space to relax between exploring the island. You’ll have everything you need without paying for stuff you don’t actually want. This property represents an excellent choice for discerning travelers seeking authenticity and comfort. The combination of affordability and quality makes it an outstanding value proposition.

Guest Reviews
It was very peaceful place with relaxing atmosphere. Great facilities and Mr William Petty, the manager was really helpful.
I would recommend the place to my friends who would be visiting Bahamas. Worth your money!!
Everything was good, clean, great location and owner very helpful and friendly, also the cocktails for free by the pool was great!
The room perfectly met the expectations. William was available and ready to help. They also have a couple of bikes we rented and they are the perfect means for getting around.
Overall, I would definitely recommend it if you don't expect/want a resort holiday. Within walking distance is a local supermarket, a breakfast place that is also part of "gourmet" tours (the New Duff), and a bit further away is Fish Fry with plenty of restaurants.
We also used the pool on the last day when we were just waiting to go to the airport in the afternoon.
Access to pool. Nice hosts. Easy access. Secure.
The location is convenient & clean. Walking distance to fish fly, supermarket, & beach.
Location is close to beach & downtown. You don’t have to drive or take public transportation to get to downtown. The place is also clean & quiet.
The location was walking distance to 3 beaches and the famous Fish Fry.
Very nice place
Very clean. Near to the beach and downtown
the airbnb is very close to downtown and to the beach! we rented a scooter and it took us max 5/7 min to get more or less everywhere!
the room is big enough if you are searching for a place where to rest, make some food and take a shower!
the breakfast is very good and they have various options!
we loved it, nobody bothered us at all, we’ll definitely will go there again!
