Overview
First Impressions
The Oasis Retreat sits quietly on Saint Albans Drive, and honestly, that’s part of its charm — you’re not dealing with the chaos of Cable Beach or Paradise Island here. When I pulled up, the first thing I noticed was how easy parking was (they’ve got free spots right on site, which is actually a big deal in Nassau). The property has this laid-back residential feel that immediately makes you slow down and breathe a little easier. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely welcoming in that authentic Bahamian way.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what I love about this spot? It’s tucked away enough to feel peaceful, but you’re still close to everything that matters in Nassau. The couples who stay here seem to really get it — there’s something romantic about being in a quieter corner of the island while still having access to the city’s restaurants and attractions. I mean, you can actually have a conversation on the property without competing with jet skis and beach vendors. The neighborhood feels more like where locals might live, which gives you a different perspective on Bahamian life beyond the tourist strips.
The Property Experience
What strikes me most about this three-star retreat is how many guests come back — and that tells you something real about the place. The staff clearly remembers people, and there’s this genuine warmth that develops when a property focuses on creating relationships rather than just processing tourists. The facilities are comfortable without trying to be something they’re not, and everything feels well-maintained. You get the sense that the owners actually care about the guest experience, not just filling rooms.
Perfect for Couples
There’s definitely a reason couples rate The Oasis Retreat so highly for romantic getaways. The atmosphere is intimate without being stuffy — you can actually connect with your partner here instead of getting swept up in resort chaos. Whether you’re sitting outside in the evening or planning your day over coffee, there’s space to just be together. The quieter setting means you can have those vacation conversations that actually matter, and the repeat guest thing creates this community feel where you might end up chatting with other couples about hidden gems around the island.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you’re expecting a massive resort with every amenity under the sun, this isn’t your place. But if you want authentic Bahamian hospitality in a setting where you can actually relax and recharge, The Oasis Retreat delivers exactly what it promises. The fact that so many people come back speaks volumes — they’ve found something here that works for them. It’s that sweet spot where you get genuine island vibes without the tourist trap feeling, plus you don’t have to stress about parking or fighting crowds just to enjoy your vacation. Sometimes the best experiences come from places that focus on doing the basics really well.

Location
It is a nice little cozy corner
Great price for what you get. Breakfast (additional $8.50) was basic, but convenient. Room was great. Shower pressure could be better, as mentioned previously by other guests. Beds were fine. We were there only to sleep and take an early flight so can't really opine on the location other than to say that it was very convenient to get to the airport.
I liked how close it was to certain locations like Arawak Cay
Secure gated property..
