Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Sunset Cove – Vacation In Paradise! on West Bay Street, you immediately get that laid-back Bahamian vibe — it’s not trying to be fancy, and honestly, that’s exactly what works about this place. The three-star property sits right where you want to be in Nassau, close enough to everything but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that descend on downtown. I mean, the name pretty much tells you what you’re getting into, and they actually deliver on that promise.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re on West Bay Street, which means Cable Beach is practically at your doorstep, but you’re also just a quick taxi ride from Paradise Island if you want to check out Atlantis for the day. The local buses (we call them jitneys) run right past the property, and trust me, that’s the most authentic way to get around Nassau anyway. You know what’s really nice? There’s actual parking here, which isn’t something you can take for granted in Nassau — especially at this price point.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, nothing that’ll blow you away but everything you need for a good night’s sleep after a day in the sun. The air conditioning works well (crucial in the Bahamas), and I actually appreciated that they kept things simple rather than trying to be something they’re not. The view from my window wasn’t ocean-facing, but honestly, you’re spending most of your time outside anyway, so it didn’t really matter to me.
What Makes It Special
The staff here genuinely seem to care about making sure you have a good time — they’re not just going through the motions like at some of the bigger resorts. I had great conversations with the front desk team about where to find the best conch fritters (it’s not where the tourists go, by the way). The property itself has this relaxed atmosphere that couples seem to really connect with — I noticed a lot of pairs just hanging out, planning their next adventure or decompressing from their day.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a place where you’ll find a fancy spa or multiple restaurants, but that’s sort of the point. You’re getting solid value in a great location without paying resort prices, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a Nassau stay. The recent guests who rated the location so highly weren’t wrong — being on West Bay Street puts you in the sweet spot where you can easily explore both the local Nassau scene and the tourist attractions without feeling stuck in either world. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax and feel like you’re experiencing the real Bahamas, not just visiting it.
Nassau hotels keep snorkelers close to coral nurseries, straw markets, and sunset catamaran docks.

Guest Reviews
Perfect location, very helpful manager of the site. Nice reef.
I think the location of the apartment itself is hard to beat. We rented a car for the 9 days we were on the island and it was a great home base as we explored other areas. You also had access to 2 beaches <1 minute walk from the apartment itself.
Carol and the groundskeepers were very attentive and helpful with our requests.
Stunning location. Beautiful sunsets.
The view 😍 and compare that around are other flats and main street, it was very quiet.
We had everything we needed to cook or grill, and we did use them.
Carol was extremely nice and helped with anything we needed.
A/C works so well, combined with the ventilators, you can keep such a good ambiente temperature.
Wifi works very well too, strong and fast.
For us it was very good.
I do recommend it.
The location is pretty far from downtown. There are two restaurants nearby (short walk); Nesbitt’s and Pink Shack. We had dinner at Nesbitt’s three nights in a row and the food was good!
It’s possible to take a local public bus to downtown (nr. 10, cost $1.75 per person, wait for it right outside Sunset Cove, by the bench. Grocery store is a 25 minute walk away.
Sunset Cove has 6 or 7 units, so you may see other people by the hammocks/ on the little terrace. Our apartment was clean and comfortable and viewed the sea. You can take stairs down to the beach. It is rocky, but there are sandy areas right nearby. My husband and kids went for a swim. We had fun watching the little hermit crabs on the beach.. You can cook, there’s also a washer & dryer. Beds, towels, shower are fine. Pretty spacious apartment. Carol was there as a manager. She was kind and helpful. She let us check out later than 10 am.
Location was pretty good..easy to get to. very pretty views of the ocean and gorgeous sunset. Walking distance to some restaurants and bars(nesbits and the pink shack a block away)the poop deck and blue sail just a little further down the road. Grocery store less than 15min walk or you can ride the jitney city bus for $1.50 pp- can take you all the way downtown as well plus there's a stop right outside the gate.
View, quiet
The property was spacious even for more than 3pax. We had nice view on the sea. There is not much grocery stores near but car rental is right across the street. Bus stop is also close if you want to try local way.
I like the view and the quick respond from the host with anything we needed.
No breakfast was provided.
