First Impressions

Walking into Sandyport Beach Resort, you immediately get that laid-back Bahamian vibe — it’s not trying too hard to impress, which honestly makes it more charming. The four-star property sits right in the Sandyport Marina Village area, and I mean, you can literally see the boats bobbing in the marina from the entrance. The whole place has this relaxed resort feel without being overly flashy, which I actually appreciated after staying at some of the more touristy spots in Nassau.

The Location Sweet Spot

Here’s what I love about where this place sits — you’re on West Bay Street, so you’ve got easy access to Cable Beach and downtown Nassau, but you’re tucked away enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re in the middle of tourist chaos. The parking situation is fantastic (and free, which is rare around here), so if you rent a car to explore the island, you’re all set. Couples seem to really dig the location — I can see why, since there are some nice quiet spots along the marina for evening walks.

Room Experience

The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, with that tropical resort decor you’d expect — nothing groundbreaking, but comfortable and well-maintained. What really stood out was how quiet it was at night, despite being reasonably close to the action. The air conditioning worked perfectly (trust me, you’ll need it), and the bathroom was modern enough. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything functioned well and felt fresh.

Activities and Amenities

If you’re into staying active, this place delivers. There’s a tennis court on-site, which was in surprisingly good condition — I played a few sets and it was well-maintained. The golf course within a couple miles is decent too, though honestly, I spent more time enjoying the fishing opportunities right from the marina. You know what’s nice? You don’t have to go far for anything, but you also don’t feel trapped on the property like at some of the mega-resorts.

Why Guests Love It

After spending time here, I get why people keep coming back. It’s that sweet spot between having resort amenities and maintaining a more authentic Bahamian feel. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable without being overly formal about it. Plus, the marina setting gives you options — you can book fishing charters or boat trips right from where you’re staying, which beats having to coordinate transportation to other marinas. The whole experience feels more like staying at a well-run local resort rather than a corporate chain, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually relax in the Bahamas.

  The staff was very professional, kind and helpful. We loved how quiet, serene the property was, no blaring music. Can walk to restaurants-liked Mi & B's deli and Blue Sail, convenience store-Chippy's and very pretty Bon Vivant for coffee & cocktails, breakfast at News Cafe. Loved the hammocks and having the umbrellas on the lagoon. The property looks like the pictures on the internet-our room seemed to be newly painted, which was nice. We liked having the balcony to sit out on. Can take #10 bus for $1.50 into Nassau. Concierge can help you with excursions. Locals were all very nice and helpful.

  The beach was beautiful and quite in January we like this, less people better attention, room was ok, the pillows too high, I got sore neck, very clean and lots of towels excellent, the shower needs to be cleaned better, plus there is not handle into the shower in case an older person falls, my husband had hard time going into the shower, he was afraid to fall . The plastic chairs outside the balcony needs cleaning. Other wise most of the utilities were ok. We had some family with two boys that were very rude in the pool, they were fighting and using profanity language, very rude. Sandyport beach was on the other side of the rd, however the resort beach was perfect for us, private benches, hamacks, . Had everything in the resort, not need to go to another beach .
