Overview
First Impressions
Sandelwood Studios’ sits tucked away on Saint Albans Drive in a quiet residential pocket of Nassau that honestly feels more like a local neighborhood than a tourist zone. When I first pulled up, I was struck by how peaceful it felt — you’re still close to everything, but there’s this sense of stepping away from the typical hotel strip chaos. The three-star property has that relaxed Bahamian vibe where things move at island pace, and the staff genuinely seems happy to see you rather than just going through the motions.
The Studios
These aren’t your standard hotel rooms — they’re actual studios with enough space to spread out and settle in for more than just a night or two. I mean, you’ve got a proper kitchenette setup if you want to grab some local produce from the market and cook something up. The rooms feel lived-in rather than sterile, which works perfectly for couples (and I can see why they rate this place so highly for romantic getaways). There’s something refreshing about having room to breathe, especially when you’re used to cramped hotel boxes where you’re tripping over your suitcase.
Location & Getting Around
What I love about this spot is that you get free private parking — which, trust me, is not a given in Nassau and saves you both hassle and money. You’re positioned perfectly to explore the island without being stuck in the thick of Cable Beach crowds. It’s maybe a 10-minute drive to downtown Nassau when you want that energy, but you can also easily reach some of the less touristy beaches that locals actually use. The neighborhood itself is safe for evening walks, and there are a few local spots nearby where you can grab authentic Bahamian food.
Breakfast & Amenities
The buffet breakfast is honestly better than I expected for a three-star place — they do a solid mix of continental options plus some local touches that give you a real taste of where you are. It’s not fancy, but it’s fresh and fills you up before a day of exploring. The whole setup feels more like staying at a well-run guesthouse than a corporate hotel, which means the amenities are straightforward but thoughtfully done. You know what you’re getting, and it delivers without any unpleasant surprises.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it strikes that sweet spot between comfort and authenticity that’s actually pretty hard to find. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or concierge services you don’t need, but you’re getting a genuinely pleasant place to stay with people who care about your experience. The 8.4 rating makes perfect sense — it’s the kind of place where everything just works smoothly, and you leave feeling like you discovered something rather than just stayed somewhere. For couples especially, there’s enough privacy and space to actually relax together without feeling like you’re on top of other guests all the time.
Hotel in Nassau reservations surge before Carnival sailings, so cruisers secure suites with harbor panoramas.

Guest Reviews
It was very peaceful place with relaxing atmosphere. Great facilities and Mr William Petty, the manager was really helpful.
I would recommend the place to my friends who would be visiting Bahamas. Worth your money!!
Everything was good, clean, great location and owner very helpful and friendly, also the cocktails for free by the pool was great!
The room perfectly met the expectations. William was available and ready to help. They also have a couple of bikes we rented and they are the perfect means for getting around.
Overall, I would definitely recommend it if you don't expect/want a resort holiday. Within walking distance is a local supermarket, a breakfast place that is also part of "gourmet" tours (the New Duff), and a bit further away is Fish Fry with plenty of restaurants.
We also used the pool on the last day when we were just waiting to go to the airport in the afternoon.
Access to pool. Nice hosts. Easy access. Secure.
The location is convenient & clean. Walking distance to fish fly, supermarket, & beach.
Location is close to beach & downtown. You don’t have to drive or take public transportation to get to downtown. The place is also clean & quiet.
The location was walking distance to 3 beaches and the famous Fish Fry.
Very nice place
Very clean. Near to the beach and downtown
the airbnb is very close to downtown and to the beach! we rented a scooter and it took us max 5/7 min to get more or less everywhere!
the room is big enough if you are searching for a place where to rest, make some food and take a shower!
the breakfast is very good and they have various options!
we loved it, nobody bothered us at all, we’ll definitely will go there again!
