Overview

First Impressions

You know what struck me first about Orange Hill Beach Inn? It’s got this unpretentious charm that feels refreshingly honest in Nassau — no marble lobbies or over-the-top theatrics, just a welcoming three-star property that knows exactly what it is. The moment you pull up (and yes, there’s free parking right on site, which is honestly a godsend in this area), you can smell the ocean breeze mixing with tropical flowers. It’s the kind of place where the staff actually remembers your name by day two, and couples seem to gravitate here for good reason — I mean, they’ve rated the location a solid 9.0, and after spending time here, I totally get why.

Location & Neighborhood

The spot on West Bay Street is actually pretty brilliant if you ask me. You’re close enough to Nassau’s action that a quick taxi ride gets you to downtown or Paradise Island, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds every morning. The beach access here is what really sells it though — it’s this lovely stretch where locals still come to hang out, so you get a genuine Bahamian vibe instead of that tourist bubble feeling. I watched fishing boats come in at sunrise one morning, and honestly, it felt more authentic than any resort experience I’ve had in the Caribbean.

The Rooms

The accommodations are comfortable without trying to be something they’re not — clean, well-maintained spaces with that breezy island feel. My room had this nice cross-breeze going (crucial in the Bahamas), and while the decor isn’t going to win design awards, everything works perfectly fine. The beds are actually quite comfortable, and I appreciated having enough space to spread out my beach gear without tripping over everything. What I really loved was waking up to ocean views — not every room has them, but if you can snag one, it’s worth asking for when you book.

Breakfast & Dining

Now this is where Orange Hill Beach Inn really surprised me. The breakfast spread covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of — continental basics, vegetarian options, vegan choices, gluten-free items, and proper American breakfast fare. I mean, finding decent vegan options in Nassau isn’t always easy, so props to them for that. They even do breakfast to go, which came in handy when I wanted to catch an early snorkeling trip. The coffee’s solid (important!), and sitting on the terrace with fresh fruit and ocean views while planning your day? That’s the kind of simple pleasure that makes a trip memorable.

Why Guests Love It

Here’s the thing about this place — it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. Recent guests have rated the location an impressive 8.8, and after my stay, that makes complete sense. It’s got that sweet spot combination of being accessible to Nassau’s attractions while maintaining a peaceful, local feel that couples especially seem to appreciate. The free parking, genuine hospitality, and that prime West Bay Street location create this relaxed island experience that feels both affordable and authentic. Sometimes you don’t need bells and whistles — just a comfortable base near beautiful water with people who care about making your stay pleasant.

Nassau hotels keep snorkelers close to coral nurseries, straw markets, and sunset catamaran docks.

It is a wonderful location close to the airport as well as downtown Nassau. It has a beautiful pool area as well as views over the Ocean. The restaurant service dinner as well as breakfast. The room we had will be great for when we come to Nassau for a week as it has a self catering option.

It was a very friendly environment - the staff were welcoming, there was everything you needed onsite including a fridge where you could take your own drinks throughout the day and use a tally to keep track. The pool area was lovely and private, the property was just across the road from a lovely beach, and the onsite restaurant provided delicious and affordable meals. I felt safe and comfortable here as a solo female traveller for a few days. I would go back if I am ever in Nassau ☺️
