Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Brownstone Guesthouses on Marlin Street, you immediately get that “this is exactly what I was hoping for” feeling. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard — just solid, well-maintained brownstone buildings that feel authentically Bahamian without being touristy. The fact that there’s parking right on site is honestly a huge relief in Nassau, where finding a spot can be a real headache. The guesthouse combines practical amenities with genuine local character that appeals to travelers seeking an authentic experience.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re actually in Nassau, not stuck in some resort bubble. Marlin Street puts you close enough to downtown that you can walk to the main attractions, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds every morning. The couples who stay here seem to really get it — there’s something romantic about having your own little base while still being able to explore the real city. You can grab groceries, hit local spots, and still make it to Cable Beach without much fuss. The neighborhood strikes an ideal balance between accessibility and authentic island living.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had that comfortable, lived-in quality that makes you want to actually hang out there instead of just crashing. Nothing fancy, but everything worked properly — good water pressure, reliable AC, and windows that actually open if you want that Caribbean breeze. The space feels more like staying at a well-kept local home than a generic hotel. Each apartment is thoughtfully designed with practical furnishings and attention to detail. It’s not going to blow you away with designer touches, but honestly, that’s part of the charm.
What Makes It Work
The guesthouse setup means you get more privacy than you’d expect — it’s not like you’re sharing hallways with dozens of other guests. The staff actually knows who you are after a day or two, which is refreshing. That free parking situation is essential if you want to explore the island properly. I noticed a lot of guests using this place as their home base for day trips, which makes total sense given how easy it is to come and go. The on-site kitchen facilities allow guests to prepare meals and enjoy greater flexibility during their stay.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the place for someone who needs a spa and room service — but if you want a genuine Nassau experience without sacrificing comfort, it really delivers. The location scores speak for themselves, especially for couples who want to explore together. You’re getting authentic Bahamian hospitality in a neighborhood that feels real, plus the practical stuff like parking that actually matters when you’re traveling. It’s the kind of place you’d recommend to friends who want to experience Nassau properly, not just pass through it. The combination of comfort, authenticity, and accessibility makes this a standout choice for discerning travelers.

Guest Reviews
It was so much better than expected.! Super cute and really nice and clean.. the staff was super nice, very friendly.!!
The property was nice and quiet.
This is good, honest budget accommodation in Nassau. It was clean and suited our needs. It is a bit out of the way but you can hire a car at reasonable cost from the property. The staff were helpful and the area felt very safe.
The ambience was nice. It was clean
All the rooms were as advertised. I was able to accommodate a party of 9 and still had plenty of space. The property was beautiful. The neighborhood was quiet and it felt like you were living in the Bahamas.
There was no breakfast. We had to purchase food the next day. Wish the store had been ready in time for us. We would love to have had coffee and food on hand right there.
It was very comfortable for the most part and nice and private and I love the fact that I basically had my own bar and pool
Quiet . Great pool.
